Amy Kate is a registered psychologist and an Educational and Developmental Psychology Registrar. She completed the Bachelor of Psychological Science (Honours) program at the University of Queensland and progressed to complete the Masters of Psychology (Educational and Developmental) program at the Queensland University of Technology.
Amy Kate has been working with children, adolescents and their families in both employed and voluntary capacities since 2012. While completing post-graduate training in Educational and Developmental Psychology, Amy Kate developed her clinical skills in the Queensland University of Technology Health Clinic, Brisbane Catholic Education schools and a youth-focused non-government organisation.
Amy Kate is skilled in completing behavioural, academic and cognitive assessments. Her practice when counselling children, adolescence, adults and families experiencing a range of difficulties includes a flexible approach tailored to the individual. This can include Feedback-Informed Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution-Focused Therapy and Attachment therapies such as using a Circle of Security (COS) framework. Amy Kate has a special interest in working with adolescents and their families, and she enjoys facilitating group programs such as the Resourceful Adolescent Program (RAP).
