Educational & Developmental Psychologist
MPsych (Ed and Dev)MAPS
My past work experience has involved supporting women experiencing domestic violence, self-funded retirees under extreme financial stress, crisis counselling and practical support for university students (domestic and international) and high school students.
I have worked in Private Practice for two years, where I provided a range of talk therapies to people on a range of issues, including anxiety, depression, substance use, anger management, and relationship issues amongst other areas.
I particularly enjoy working with people who have transitional issues, such as moving to a new country, culture or work/school system, starting a new relationship, or leaving home, beginning a career or just wanting to start a new phase of their life, and supporting people to navigate these situations. I like working with therapies such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Interpersonal therapy, Psychodynamic therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and using Mindfulness techniques. I have also competed training as a Group Facilitator for the Friends for Life program for the prevention of Anxiety and Depression in children, and the Resourceful Adolescent Program (QUT) for building resilience and promoting positive mental health in teenagers.
