Nicole holds a Bachelor of Social science, Human Services from Queensland University of Technology, a Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) from James Cook University, and a Masters in Educational and Developmental Psychology from Queensland University of Technology. She has over eight years experience in providing therapeutic counselling and other mental health interventions to adolescents with complex needs. Nicole’s most recent work has included developing her clinical skills in cognitive, behavioural and academic assessment and therapeutic interventions to children, adolescents and adults. She has most recently worked in the Queensland University of Technology Health Clinic, Brisbane Catholic Education Schools, Brisbane based Flexi-Schools and at The Better Life Centre.
Nicole is able to provide both therapeutic and assessment based interventions with clients of all ages with a range of needs. She has a flexible approach to therapy, tailoring her approach to the needs of the individual. She is skilled at delivering a range of different therapeutic interventions. These include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Emotion Focused Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Feedback Informed Therapy, Strengths Based Therapy, Narrative Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Mindfulness. Nicole is experienced in administering a range of psychological assessments to assist clients to gain information about specific cognitive, behavioural or academic needs. These include WISC-IV, WAIS-V, Stanford Binet-V, WIAT-III, and CMS. Nicole has also facilitated several therapeutic group programs including the Resourceful Adolescent Program (social skills and emotional regulation for adolescents), Stop Think Do (emotional and behavioural regulation for children) and PALS (Social Skills for children).
