Christine offers psychodynamic short- and long-term psychotherapy and counselling for individuals, couples, and group work on a variety of life issues. She has a strong interest in working with couples and is an Accredited Gottman therapist and EMDR therapist.
Christine has trained as a relational psychoanalytic psychotherapist. This means she works to facilitate awareness of deep help beliefs and patterns and to build with the client a new way of framing their experiences and their responses. a different understanding. The intention being to build a greater strength and resilience in dealing with life and gaining freedom from patterns that are no longer serving the individual.
She believes that integration, balance and the understanding of the relationship between mind, body, key relationships and spirit are part of making our life better. She has a significant career in the behavioural sciences in both healthcare and the corporate world. She understands the neuroscience behind behaviours and feelings and works with individuals and couples to build their awareness which is the first step in positive change.
Christine’s work is informed by a variety of contemporary psychological models of therapy. Most notable of these being the Conversational Model. Attachment Theory, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Emotionally Focussed Therapy (EFT), and the Gottman Model. Trauma interventions including Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Dialectic Behaviour Therapy (DBT).
Christine is a clinical member of the Australian & New Zealand Association of Psychotherapy (ANZAP), the International Association of Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy (IARPP) and the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA). She is registered with the Australian Health Practitioners Registration Board (AHPRA). She is a Nationally Accredited Mediator (NMAS). Accredited Gottman Relationship Therapist and EMDR Therapist.
