Biography

Dr. Jenny Harasty is an experienced  Speech Language Pathologist (Certified Practicing) in clinical practice since 1996 ( same as speech therapist). She has a Masters degree and a PhD. As well as an awarded neuroscientist, she is a University Academic, Cognitive Neuroscientist, Communication Sciences and Disorders Specialist she helps as a neurobehavioural therapist for verbal memory, processing, social pragmatic difficulties and other learning difficulties. She helps children and adults with all forms of speech and language difficulties such as articulation (pronunciation ) disorders, language disorders (words and sentence structure, auditory processing) written language disorders (eg dyslexia and other learning difficulties), writing language disorders, stuttering, voice disorders (eg hoarse or or loss of voice), swallowing and dementia difficulties as well as speech aphasia after a stroke or car accident. She is especially good with school aged and older adolescents having trouble and  children and adults with autism spectrum disorder. She is currently a Senior Research Fellow and researcher in the large Cooperative Research Centre for Autism ($8 million in funding) which is a national research program involving 11 Australian Universities.  She is also involved in a large study of the early determinants of health study.

She is a kind and thoughtful gentle therapist who immediately makes you feel at ease and loves making therapy fun and effective using scientific evidenced based therapy.  She prides herself on ensuring that each session makes a big difference to your family member and you will see improvement quickly. Costs are very reasonable (ranging from $150 to $300 for an hour assessment session) and specified  when you contact her and your family needs are discussed
