Selina Dunn

Educational and Developmental Psychologist

Selina is a warm, friendly, and experienced psychologist and mother of two who has worked extensively in the private and public health system since gaining full registration in 2001. 

She has an Area of Practice Endorsement in Educational & Developmental Psychology and has experience in working with clients and families in community and inpatient child and youth mental health services (CYMHS), child development services, primary school settings, disability services, and more recently in clinical research trials with neurodevelopmental differences such as autism and rare genetic syndromes.

Selina enjoys working with children, adolescents and families by helping them learn and practise the skills needed to maximise their mental health, well-being, and quality of life.  She draws on evidence-based therapeutic techniques from an eclectic base of approaches which include Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, attachment and family systems theories, creative therapies, Narrative Therapy, interpersonal/functional neurobiology, and trauma-informed approaches.

Selina also provides neuro-affirming psychological and psycho-educational assessments and reports for children and adolescents in order to contribute to a developmental/diagnostic understanding of clients’ strengths and areas of difficulty.  Her areas of particular interest are ADHD, autism, anxiety, mood disorders, and specific learning disorders.
